Heat exchanger
The U-tube heat exchanger is designed and manufactured in compliance with the requirements of GB/T 151 Heat Exchangers, GB/T 150 Pressure Vessels, and TSG 21 Safety Technical Supervision Regulation for Stationary Pressure Vessels.
The U-tube heat exchanger features a single tube sheet with fewer sealing surfaces, ensuring reliable operation. Both ends of the tubes are fixed to the same tube sheet, allowing free expansion and eliminating thermal stress caused by temperature differences between the tube and shell. It offers excellent thermal compensation performance. With a double-tube pass design, it provides a longer flow path, higher velocity, and superior heat transfer efficiency. Suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure applications, it exhibits strong pressure-bearing capacity. The tube bundle can be extracted from the shell for easy maintenance and cleaning, and its simple structure makes it cost-effective.
Structural Characteristics
-
The U-shaped heat exchanger tube ends are designed to float freely, resolving thermal stress caused by temperature differences and making it suitable for high-temperature differential applications.01
-
With only one tube sheet and fewer flanges, the structure is simple and has minimal leakage points.02
-
It allows for core-pull cleaning (with clean fluid in the tube side), facilitating the cleaning of the outer tube walls.03
-
Due to the limitation of the minimum bending radius (Rmim), the spacing between tube passes is wider, resulting in slightly fewer tubes compared to fixed tube sheet heat exchangers.04
-
Excessive tube-side flow velocity can cause severe erosion in the U-bend section, reducing the lifespan.05
-
In case of tube leakage, except for the outer U-tubes, replacement is not possible—only plugging is feasible.06
-
The compact design minimizes footprint and often adopts a vertical structure.07
-
Insulation layers are installed to reduce heat loss.08
-
Additional features include shell-side level gauges, safety valves, and automatic air vents installed at the top.09
